About me

Welcome to my blog!

My name is Tomislav Zubčić, I'm a 26 years old programmer from Croatia. I have started programming somewhere about 10 years ago and have always been primarily interested in reverse engineering related projects. First starting with development of cheats for multiplayer games on Linux, then moved to Windows where I practiced reverse engineering on anticheats which were popular back then. Over the years I have switched sides and developed anticheats for some time. I am mostly interested in development of software protection solutions right now.

x86obf is currently my primary project. It is a free software protection application based on code virtualization, a very powerful and popular method of code obfuscation these days. It's probably the first free code virtualizer released, all other must be paid for (if you know of any other free virtualizers, please let me know). I have released its source code for educational purposes and have rewritten x86obf in order to compensate for the lowered security due to source code release.

The project is still not very known, but I plan on expanding it and making it more popular. Current most important goals are::
  • Add support for 64 bit code to the current version
  • Add support for multiple file formats (PE, ELF, Mach-O)
  • Fork the project into protector for other architectures (e.g. ARM)
In other words, I want to expand x86obf and eventually armobf into widely used software protection tools which can be used for both desktop and mobile apps.

I'm still a student, but if you're looking for an employee that will work on reverse engineering related projects, please contact me. Whether it's about actual reverse engineering or protection against it, I am always interested.

If you need to contact me, you can do so by sending an email to chaplja[at]gmail[dot]com
